St. Joseph’s Catholic Church
Modesto, California
This stained glass window is one of the most intricate windows that Hogan Stained glass studios ever constructed. It measures 5 feet in diameter and its original design was inspired by the great cathedral of “Nortre Dame in Paris France.” It is made of mouth blown antique and has iridescent glass throughout.
The Risen Christ is 7 feet and 6 inches in height. The template for this one piece stained glass window was made within the sanctuary sheet rock wall to create the sense that the stained glass window was actually conformed to the space. The Risen Christ is such because the hands of Christ are above the cross, signifying the Risen Lord and yet a powerful reminder of the Crucified Lord in the cross relationship.
