St. Callistus
Garden Grove, California
This project is a mouth blown leaded stained glass window, measuring 12 feet by 44 feet. The idea being, the palms symbolizing the coming King, starting with the blues of baptism, moving to the golds of glory, tying in with the reredos wall, pale yellow, revealing the altar of real presence. Christ crucified on the mahogany cross, reddish in color, a picture of his blood, his body white, symbolic of the coming resurrection. The stations below, light in color, a reflection of the walk of his suffering, our Victory.
Hogan Studios was commissioned as liturgical consultant/artist for St. Callistus Catholic Church in Garden Grove, California. This included designing interior colors and texture concepts, curved pews, the design and fabrication of liturgical furnishings, stained glass windows, etched glass, baptismal font, stations of the cross, and column etchings of the four Gospels.
